Scott Trembley: Hello guys and gals out there, Scott Trembley with The Trembley Group Real Estate firm, President and CEO here, and I hope everybody is doing amazing. Just real quickly wanted to celebrate an amazing September here at The Trembley Group real estate firm, we actually sold 51 homes, with 13 agents, so everybody is pretty excited about that. We’re looking forward to a big October ahead. I’m hoping that everybody out there is doing the same.
But one thing that I wanted to share with you is, how are we able to actually achieve those results. I had somebody … I was walking a few new agents through the office a couple of days ago, and they were asking like, “How in the world are you guys doing what you’re doing?” And they were pretty blown away about the culture and everything, but also, you know, the culture and the results. So one thing I’ll share with you is, and this can be in any business, not just real estate, but I learned a long time ago, at least what I felt was a very, very strong value proposition that I learned was … love and results … how do you bring love and results into business? Is it possible in the top companies in any industry to actually figure that out?
You can have both, but there’s a lot of times you’ll find that folks don’t. I mean, you may have a lot of love just pouring out, love this that and the other, but no results, and of course, that’s probably a recipe to be out of business. Then, the vice versa could be, all about results, just hammering down on you all the time about numbers, numbers, numbers, which we’re all about numbers, but you find that the culture and the company doesn’t care, and so that’s probably a recipe for there to be an open door for people to be coming and going in the company all the time. You might make it for a while, but it might not be the end result you’re looking for.
So, if you can balance love and results, then figure all that out, and if you really, really, care, then people can really be accountable. There is a statement that basically says, which I’ve always loved, “Standards without accountability are just suggestions.” So, “Standards without accountability are just suggestions.” I say that because here’s the thing. If you have standards and expectations but no accountability, then you’re just talking. You’re probably not getting anywhere. People are coming and going. No one’s really following through on the action that you’re expecting and you’re not getting anywhere. But, the way to get there is to bring major support, have an incredible team concept, love on your folks, continue to coach and train, build them up, bring major value, teach them how to be stronger leaders, and do it consistently day in and day out and they will follow your lead on accountability and the standards that you expect.
So, the message today is, is no matter what you’re doing out there, try and figure out if there’s a way that you can either really combine and balance out the love and results. I think if you do, love and results, I think if you do, you’ll find major productivity, folks that are super excited, all in, everybody’s pulling in the same direction and, trust me, the numbers will absolutely follow.
